What can Be Done about the National Debt?

What is different about the debt clock on Debt-Clocks.com (and the debt clocks linked to above)? Many debt clocks take the debt at the start of the US Federal Government Fiscal Year (October 1) and then the projected value at the end of the fiscal year and average it per second. That is certainly a valid method of calculating the approximate Federal Debt at any point in time, but it is only an average. Some update their values monthly. Debt-Clocks.com does not use that method and it reflects the actual U.S. Federal Debt as frequently as the US Treasury releases figures. After discussing with the sites linked to above, they too update their informaiton daily. As such, you may see the debt go down some days which reflects payments on the debt made by the Federal Government. Admittedly this is a rare occurence. So, if you want the most accurate United States Debt figures, you know where to go. Un-funded liabilities are notoriously difficult to calculate since they are future liabilities that the United States Government has obligated itself to pay. The United States Treasury, various think-tanks and researches all calculate the numbers differently.
